Hope all is well with you!

I have a question about spirituality... There was a post that you commented on (I cannot find it now, partly because I am lazy, lol) In your comment you alluded to the fact that prayer can help override the negative effects of the planets. Did I understand you correctly?

I ask because there are some extremely negative transits coming up for me in December of 2010. I know it is important to get my "stuff" together, to be in the "best position possible" to deal with these transits.

I have always been a believer in prayer, but like most people, prayer is only paramount in my life when I am dealing with difficulties. When my life is going well, unfortunately, prayer takes a back seat to other things. I really want to change this aspect of myself and make prayer part of my EVERYDAY life.

I don't want to take a lot of your time, but would like to know what you meant by "prayer overriding the negative effect of the planets". That is, If I read that right....

And I also know that there are life lessons that we are here to learn, and that what I WANT may not be what is best for me. Still I would really like to know your thoughts on prayer

Hi Marlysta,

I don't think I said quite what you thought. It takes a lot of spiritual development, not just prayer, to be free of the planetary influences. Prayer too often is simply begging for something you want. When you talk with your Creator, it should be to request guidance and understanding or wisdom to deal with the circumstances of life. We cannot avoid all pain and suffering, but we can learn to minimize those effects by understanding how we are usually responsible for what we get in life. Sometimes we have to accept pain to learn a lesson. When all the lessons have been learned, nothing can hurt us any more.

I hope you have a happy new year and deal with the problems of life in a mature and wise way.
